A Medieval Fairytale Wedding

It's every couple’s desire to create a wedding that is magical - and every photographers dream to be part of something extraordinary.  When Alan and Sharna Smith hired me as their wedding photographer last year, little did I know what a magical experience it was going to be for me.  Lovingly they  they transformed Longwood Camp, in Mylor, to a medieval and fantasy-themed wonderland, that involved dramatic armour wearing knights, a groom on horseback and a bride who looked like she was lifted from the pages of a fairytale.

This couple wanted something different; they wanted an artistic element to some of their photos, which for me as an artist was a joy. Colourful dressed horses, knights and a large medieval dressed gathering witnessed their touching nuptials which included a touching ribbon ceremony.

Alan and Sharna drew inspiration from some of their favourite fantasy films and television series, such as Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones. They wanted an event that people would remember, and that is what they achieved.

One of the wonderful things about this wedding is that everyone from celebrant, bridal party and guests got involved and dressed  in medieval attire. This gave the wedding a magical and joyous feel.  For me as their photographer it was a dream. Everywhere you looked there was beauty, characters and excitement.

Something I also discovered that day is that every man from 20 to 70 years of age looks HOT in medieval wear. It should come back as a fashion trend.

Sharna and Alan wanted to create memories, and for all the 100+ guests they did exactly that.  And for this Dark Room Diva it was a one of a kind experience.

Cheers
