WISPA Paranormal Investigations Guidelines
(Always follow the law and don’t trespass)

Wear highly visible clothes, if out doors. Comfortable clothes and shoes. Shoes should be when walking. Pockets or a shoulder bag to carry equipment and spare batteries

Before entering a place for paranormal investigations, Firstly conduct a team protection prayer

Next you should get a feel for the area first without doing anything [no EVP's, video or pictures]. If you are sensitive, MAKE SURE you have closed down and retracted in ALL your energy, you don't know whats lurking around and it can be dangerous.
At least walk around the place, making sure you take note of anything that may be dangerous.

Safety is the key here. Do this for an hour or so until you're pretty much sure it’s ok.

Get a feel for the place and allow the spirits to get a feel for you, let them feel comfortable with you being there.

Before starting the investigation, it’s best to ask the spirits for permission to take photos.

Usually they will grant you their acceptance in allowing you to photograph them. When you feel as though they have given you permission, start your investigation, and don’t be alarmed if you notice that a spirit seems to be following you around. The spirit is just curious of you. (They are as curious of you as you are of them)

There have been cases where certain people would get the sense that the spirits don’t want you there, so if you start to feel those kinds of things, trust what you feel and LEAVE.

Go in there with an open mind. You must always make sure it’s normal and not paranormal. For example, a reflection can cause orbs or weird lights or a window can create false anomalies to appear. Just use your common sense in regard to anything out of the ordinary.

Always bring plenty of backup batteries, and camcorder batteries [Make sure they are fully charged]. You should do so because at times you may encounter malfunctions of flashlights, cameras, camcorders and so forth. What does that mean you ask? Simple, It means that there is a spirit close by.

Before you leave, you *MUST* not forget to tell them thank you for allowing you to photograph them, and you *MUST* tell them to stay where they are, or you MAY get an unwelcome visitor.

Don't drink alcohol, use drugs or horse around, before, during or after an investigation as this makes us look very bad and can be dangerous. Investigate in a professional manner.

If you feel anything touch you, or begin to feel sick or strange, TELL SOMEONE. USE the SAFE word if it is bad, so team members know something is really wrong.
Pick up a voice recorder or stand in front of a video recorder and  say whats wrong, so we have a record of it with a time stamp, if the person affected can't do this, then another team member needs to. .

Don’t take pictures when the weather is bad (Rain, Snow, Dust storms, Foggy)

When taking pictures, always remove the camera strap, don’t take pictures of shiny objects, moving vehicles, and don’t take pictures of windows/mirrors, or take pictures while the sun is in the background.

Always make sure your equipment is in proper working order: Charged batteries, cleaned lenses and double check connections prior to beginning.

You In regard to cameras; you can use a 35mm camera, a snap shot camera like a Coolpix and your phone cameras, as long as they are at least 8 megapixels. (for clarity).  At the investigation site, where possible, get a copy of your photos downloaded into the team’s computer. That way we can have multiple eyes going through the images in search of anomalies. It’s amazing what can be missed.

Make sure you bring your phone or camera charger! As we know it is common for batteries to drain, and also for downloading photos with a phone, this can be done with your charger, with cameras, we use a card reader.

Bring  along a lap top to get a copy of all the images, videos and EVP’s taken throughout the investigation, then, get other members to bring a usb and copy them onto this, so everyone has a copy of the nights captures. The more eyes that go through the work load, the better.

You should take double pictures of spots you feel are active and compare them with each other.
NEVER go alone. Always bring someone else along with you, just in case of emergencies. There’s safety in numbers.

Bring some type of communication device along with you like a cell phone or walkie-talkies so you can keep up with everyone else in case something goes wrong.

Finish the investigation with a team clearing and protection prayer.

If you experience anything strange when leaving the team or home, report to your team leader immediately.

As soon as you get home start analysing your recordings, evp's and photos. If you don;t.... then whats the point??
